Title
Johnson Family: "You Are My Flower (Acetate Disc / Audio)
Description
One-of-a-kind acetate disc recording attributed to the Johnson Family, October 25, 1952. Mislabeled "Wildwood Flowers," the disc contains a performance of "You Are My Flower."
Though there are some broad similarities, it appears unlikely that this group is the popular Johnson Family string band of Sand Mountain, Alabama. For samples of that family's music, please see our extensive Johnson Family Collection of radio broadcasts, home recordings, photos, setlists, and correspondence.
The reverse side of this disc includes a performance by Tommy Reeves and the Alabama Playboys, recorded on the same date.
This item originally belonged to Dan Brennan of Birmingham radio station WVOK.
