Honey and Sugar promotional photo; Cornelia Wallace, second wife of Alabama governor George Wallace, is at right. The niece of Governor “Big Jim” Folsom – the mentor, then rival, of her future husband, George -- Cornelia Ellis toured with Roy Acuff as a singer and guitarist and recorded two original songs for MGM records before her 1971 marriage to Wallace. Cornelia Wallace served as First Lady from 1971 – 1978. The couple divorced in 1978.
